Open-vocabulary 3D scene understanding unlocks the ability to explore and interact with 3D environments using free-form language descriptions. This is achieved by leveraging the knowledge of vision-language models to bridge the gap between language and 3D perception. In this talk, we will explore recent advancements in this field and highlight potential applications in augmented reality and robotics.
