Dominique Paul (ETH Zurich, Dream Machines): Building Robotic AI for Self-Serve Automation Robotics is on track to become the most important technology of our lifetime, and the new bottleneck isn’t architecture, but data from real physical work. Europe’s manufacturing SMEs hold more of it than anyone: high-mix, low-volume production carrying decades of tacit process knowledge. No company group is better positioned to benefit from robotic AI. This talk covers what we learned from six weeks of cold-visiting factories, what training models on the worker demonstrations looks like, and why the best data flywheel is built on <1000 employee manufacturers, and why robotics is becoming as much a user interface problem as a research problem.
